What is Control Number in IGNOU?

Control Number is an automatically generated 11 digit unique code that is sent to IGNOU students after the successful payment of admission fees at the IGNOU Online Admission portal. How To Check IGNOU Admission Status 2023?
- First, Click on the admission status link and then go to the page of IGNOU online admission page.
- Here, Enter your registered username and password to login to the admission portal.
- Now, Click on the My Application tab to go to the page. Here, you will get to know all about your application to IGNOU.
- If it is showing as “Fresh Application” then it means that your application is in progress and will be verified soon.
- If it is showing as “Admission Confirmed” then your documents are verified by IGNOU and the application is now successfully approved.
- If it is showing as “Discrepancy” then you should remove and update the affected document again to verify your document for approval
- If it is showing as “Cancelled” then your request to cancel the IGNOU Admission Application is approved with the date of cancellation.
So If your admission is approved and confirmed then you can start your study with IGNOU. You can use your enrollment number for the exam, online hall ticket, result, grade card etc. If the verification of your documents is running then you can check your status after a few days. Earlier, the candidates have to enter the control number to get the status of their online application form. And after submission of the control number, the student was getting their status on the screen.
Important Note – Due to the overwhelming online applications at every session, the confirmation of admission for the session January 2023 may take a longer time than expected. IGNOU students are requested to keep some patience and check their admission status regularly to know the status of their online application.
